Tile Talk Tuesday

Welcome back to Tile Talk Tuesday! If you’re like me, back to school season is in full swing and while we’re welcoming the routine again - it’s been a busy few weeks!

This week we’re talking all about the Charleston - if you haven’t been following along on Instagram and Facebook, I’ve been doing a challenge per week of what would you keep and pass - follow along to see more!

Alright - let’s get into it!

Challenge Corner

This week's question

Let’s talk Charleston - since I've got three classes on it this week. Tap your answer and I'll bring you my read next Tuesday.

A 13 tile rack: a pung of North, a pair of South, two Flowers, and pairs of 1, 3 and 5 Bam

Second Charleston, and you're passing three. Pung of North, pair of South, two Flowers, and pairs of 1, 3 and 5 Bam. Do you break up the Norths?

Worth having both lines in front of you: 13579 #3 is NN 1111 33 5555 SS. Winds and Dragons #3 is NNN 1111 1111 SSS.

The Nomad, from Mahjong Atelier

The Mahjong Atelier Nomad travel set laid out: aubergine carrying case, four ivory racks, tiles built into a wall on the mat

The question I get more than any other: is there a travel set that actually fits in one bag? This is the first one I've said yes to without a caveat.

That's the whole set up there. Mat, four racks, tiles, dice, all of it in that beautiful bag at about four pounds. Every rack has a spot for exposures. The tiles use colored numbers instead of traditional artwork, which I expected to hate and now read faster.

Can you build walls? You can, but they’ll hang over the racks - not uncommon by any means in travel racks and these ones did a good job of making it so they’re able to still have walls but keep the racks slim and easy to travel with!

And the best part? It’s on Amazon! Thanks to the magic of Amazon prime - can be at your doorstep, well….tomorrow!

I love all of Mahjong Atelier’s tiles - such a great price for the quality!

Three Charleston classes in four days

Not planned as a Charleston week. It turned into one, and it's the right thing to be drilling, because the Charleston decides most hands before anyone discards a tile.

All three include the recording, so register even if the time doesn't work.

Where to Find Me

P.S. If you travel with your tiles, the Nomad (gifted, affiliate link) is one case, about four pounds, and it can be at your door tomorrow.
